PSI envisions a society reflecting positive change in the treatment and perception of persons with mental illness.

We aspire to be a leading institute in ethical and quality psychological practice, research and training in Sri Lanka.

We are devoted to enriching the psychological health and wellness of individuals through:

Creating a centre for support and development for psychologists and allied professionals in providing quality psychological services in Sri Lanka.

Educating individuals, families and communities of the importance of early intervention and therapeutic support for those with psychological illness.

Advocating for stronger and effective mental health related policies and plans.

We are devoted to enriching the psychological health and wellness of individuals under the guidance of these core values:

  • Every individual, irrespective of age, sexual orientation, economic status, race, gender, ethnicity or disability has the right to achieve their potential in our country, the right to be treated with dignity, respect and compassion, devoid of stigma and discrimination.
  • It is crucial to advocate the acceptance and tolerance of mental health in our society; this is significant in negating the adverse effects of stigma and prejudice.
